Trekking tour to Fagaras Mountains - Negoiu Peak (2535 m)

From the Balea Lake (Transfagarasan road) we will start to hike as early in the morning as possible. We will need at least 4h, and to cross some fixed cable sections to reach Caltun Lake (2135m). And the hard work it just starts. Negoiu Peak is still 400m above us … and another fixed cable section ahead too. But once arrived there (1-1,5h) we will stay ont he second highest peak in all Romanian Carpathians, and we will have the whole country below us. But the congratulations will come after we are back to Balea lake again. (*the diagram below represent the halfway of the tour!) Of course we can return from the lake … saving 3h, and +400m hike. Its your choice …
